In part, Tajon Buchanan has the typical Canadian Athlete story: playing for one of the top academies in his hometown of Toronto, then leaving home to pursue the sport in the USA to get into a top Collegiate program. Buchanan moved to Colorado during his high school years to play for the Real Colorado academy.  While there he played for Legacy High School where he was named Colorado State Player of the Year.  That propelled him into a spot with Syracuse University where he made 33 appearances over two years, racking up 12 goals and 6 assists. Now he applies his trade with the New England Revolution in the MLS where he made 23 appearances in 2020 – the most by any Canadian earning him Canadian youth player of the year.

Like Davies, Buchanan is a versatile talent that can play anywhere along the wing, he started the season as an attacking winger but made 4 starts in the MLS Playoffs as a right back.  That lead to his inclusion in the Canada u23 and in January 2021 an invite to attend the Canadian Men’s team training camp. Check out the profile done on him by Canada soccer, as you can see he is certainly one to watch for Canada in 2026, and maybe with his help 2022.
